Thanks to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, Apple has cancelled the physical aspect of WWDC and moved it to late June. The conference normally takes part earlier in the month. A positive side to this virtual set up means more developers can attend. Due to limited availability and capacity at the physical event, tickets are usually distributed randomly to developers who apply for tickets. “WWDC20 will be our biggest yet, bringing together our global developer community of more than 23 million in an unprecedented way for a week in June to learn about the future of Apple platforms,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing....

Now, in an interview with Fast Company, Apple executives spoke a bit more about the devices, including what the company intends them to be used for and how secure they are. Apex Legends recently added the swift and agile hero Octane with the introduction of the Season 1 Battle Pass. Data miners have also pulled out patched data from Apex Legends and found that Respawn is planning to add 10 more characters, which also includes Octane. Respawn has mentioned that the data miners are “not a reliable source” and that players should not take away anything from it. This could just be a PR act to cover up leaks, but Respawn may change these characters as they slowly introduce them....

Since his first introduction all the way back in Season 3, Crypto has been widely viewed as one of the most redundant characters in the game. With extremely lackluster abilities that hardly assist teammates, and certainly don’t help Crypto himself, this Legend is rarely seen in a match. For the last two years now, fans have been desperate for a buff to Crypto’s abilities, or something that would finally make him a worthwhile character....

In the teaser trailer, Newcastle’s abilities are hinted at and seemingly fit into what fans learned about the character in the infamous recent leak. It was also confirmed that Newcastle has a direct tie to Bangalore, one of the original six Legends in the game. Though not everything has been revealed just yet, Newcastle’s abilities and backstory have already been fleshed out, and it seems like he’ll be a great addition to Apex Legends’ roster....

After some bugs arose in the Second Chance LTM, it was quickly swapped out for the Shield Regen LTM instead. Ultra Zones will still go ahead and begin on Thursday, April 15, but it is unclear as to how Second Chance and Armor Regen will return to Apex Legends during the two-week event. Flash Points make their return to Apex Legends since their introduction in the Flashpoint LTM during the Aftermarket Collection event in Season 6. With the War Games event LTMs, adding small changes to some of the core rules and features of Apex Legends, Respawn could be bringing in some big changes for Season 9. The confirmation comes from Respawn Game Director Chad Grenier in an interview with BrownGirlGamerCode. Grenier starts by describing how private matches are already implemented for Apex Legends behind the scenes, a tool Respawn can use for tournaments and events. He goes on to say that Respawn is currently working on enabling private matches for the public, too. Grenier doesn’t have a timeline at the moment, but says the team is working to get it available “as quickly as possible....

Dataminers have dug through Apex Legends’ game files and found evidence that the game is adding a Solo Mode and 2-Man Squad. This should give fans of the game more options, and won’t force them to always play with strangers. However, Solo and 2-Man Squad have yet to be officially announced by Respawn, so it remains to be seen if either mode will actually be added to the popular battle royale game or not....

However, cultural icon Ninja and fellow streamer TimTheTatMan found a glitch that makes ziplining in the midst of a firefight much easier. This Apex Legends glitch doesn’t make the player invincible, as they are still capable of being hit, but this glitch reduces the likelihood of that by a large margin. It’s likely that this glitch is patched out before long, but many may want to try it out beforehand....

Season 7 may have introduced a new character, Horizon, and map, Olympus, but it has also introduced rideable vehicles to Apex with the Trident. Its addition has provided teams with more ways to get around the map than ever before and cover more ground in less time, though it turns out that one of those options is very unintentional. The leaker, @Shrugtal, posted datamined images of the supposed new characters to Twitter.
