While hop-ups have been rotated in and out of Apex Legends for several seasons now, the Disruptor Rounds haven’t been seen since season 2. Disruptor Rounds increase damage against shields, which made them especially nasty in the Apex Games. Now, with them returning, many may be both excited and apprehensive about their return. Game Rant asked about how they would work in comparison to season 2 during a recent roundtable with Respawn Entertainment....

A report issued by research firm Qimai reportedly claims that 39,000 games have been removed from the Apple App Store as part of the crackdown. This includes major game releases including titles from Ubisoft and 2K, as well as thousands of smaller games that neither have the means or the way to pursue official licenses in China. An additional non-game 7,000 apps were also removed from the service, bringing the overall total of apps removed to 46,000....

They recently had a problem with the previous update, which came out on April 2 - moving the player’s profile onto a server which didn’t have players’ persistence. This lead to a serious issue where Apex Legends players’ progress was nil, being wiped out, although the issue was seen to by the developers. The developers themselves sought out the community and explained the issue to them before it was resolved....

It’s been rumored for a while that one Kuben Blisk will be added to Apex Legends as a future playable character. Blisk is not only the founder of the Apex Games, the competition that acts as the main focus of the battle royale, but also one of the main antagonists from Titanfall 2, which took place before Apex Legends. If he was to be made playable, it stands to reason that he would have Titanfall-related abilities, which he does according to the leak....

Such a mode has been leaked in the past before, even as early as Apex Legends’ initial release in 2019, but it’s never been included in the game proper. One reliable leaker/dataminer, Shrugtal, however, found references in the game’s files to an Arena mode of some description ahead of the beginning of Season 7. The post never got any attention and the commenters on the thread claimed it to be fake. Well, it turns out, the minimap he revealed is exactly the same map used in Apex Legends, albeit with a slightly different orientation. Amusingly enough, the post was dug up by Reddit user Fubbles22 much to the hysteria of everyone on the Apex Legend subreddit. Respawn developer Jayfresh commented on the thread and remembered how hiticonic would be the one laughing and saying “I told you so” a year after the game was released....

Fortnite players have been able to pick up downed teammates and haul them to safety since the first season of Chapter 2, and Redditor fortniteplayerGG has drawn what they think it would like if the cast of Apex Legends were able to do the same. Around a week ago, the developers at Respawn Entertainment decided to temporarily remove the Sentinel and the Rampage LMG from Apex Legends. This was done in order to fix an issue that allowed players to infinitely charge these guns during battle. Recently, the weapons were added back into the game via a new patch. The call for change is concerned with Apex Legends’ Mobile Respawn Beacons. At launch, players had to retrieve a player’s banner and take it to one of multiple respawn beacons scattered across the map. Last year, however, Apex Legends added a mobile respawn beacon item that allows players to call in a respawn beacon in a similar way to how Apex Legends’ medic character Lifeline’s ultimate ability works. Fan favorite rogue robot Pathfinder is one of the most mobile legends in Apex Legends due to his grappling hook ability. It takes a lot of practice but once gamers learn how to correctly time the swing of the grapple they can quickly get vertical distance for sniper spots, or use it to quickly scout areas and make tactical retreats over and around structures. Pathfinder can even grapple enemy players with the grappling hook, and now some players have learned that there’s a way to truly dominate people using this ability....

Previously, this record for Solo vs. Squad kills (one player vs. squads) was held by an Apex Legends player who goes by Mendokusaii. They managed to get 36 kills in a single match on Kings Canyon, the original version of the map, shortly after the game launched. It should be noted that some fans in the community have never really counted this record, because Mendokusaii did have two teammates at the start of the match....

Only one Town Takeover has been previously done in Apex Legends, the Octane Town Takeover made during the Iron Crown event. The section of the map marked off by the construction flags changed dramatically. The area was built into a sort of Octane-themed obstacle course, themed after the Legend’s style and abilities. Respawn was quoted at the time as saying, “We’re always looking for new ways to weave Legend personalities into the map, and this change will remain part of Kings Canyon even after the event ends....

Events in Apex Legends are nothing new, as one or two major events take place every season. However, this Unshackled event is bringing back some fan-favorite elements, introducing new ones, and so on. It remains to be seen how the event is received, but it looks promising. In a recent post on Reddit, Andreas Juliusson, the community manager for Fast Travel Games, indicated that the similarity of Apex Construct’s title to Apex Legends has led the company to sell “more units of Apex Construct in China the last seven days than during ALL of 2018.” For clarity, it seems that a number of players have mistakenly spent $29.99 on Fast Travel’s VR game when attempting to obtain a copy of the free-to-play Apex Legends....
