Wonder what this has got to do with Samsung? Well, the first instance of the retina scanner came in the form of a rumored spec on the yet-to-release Samsung Galaxy S5. A latest render for the Apple iPhone 6 from SET Solution reveals that the retina scanner has replaced the fingerprint scanner spec that we saw in Apple iPhone 5s....

Sources claim that custom Apple silicon for the rumored VR accessory is so advanced that it beats the company’s latest M1 processors which power the refreshed MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini computers. The headset should rock displays of higher resolution than comparable screens in existing VR products. Mark Gurman, reporting for Bloomberg News, has also learned from unnamed sources that the headset will be an expensive “niche precursor” to the more ambitious augmented reality (AR) glasses which may be formally announced as early as 2023....

Two New MacBook Pros Are in the Works An upcoming supply-chain report from DigiTimes claims that supplier Global Lighting Technologies is set to ship the first batch of mini-LED display backlight components for next-generation MacBook Pros in the third quarter of 2021. Not much else was know at post time because DigiTimes only shared a short preview ahead of the full, paywalled report. DigiTimes is a Taiwanese trade publication with a mixed track record in reporting Apple’s moves....

Apple announced the updates on Wednesday, revealing plans to bring eye-tracking support to iPads, image support for VoiceOver, and made-for-iPhone hearing aids and audiogram support. The company also plans to incorporate background sounds into iOS to help minimize distractions for many users. “At Apple, we’ve long felt that the world’s best technology should respond to everyone’s needs, and our teams work relentlessly to build accessibility into everything we make,” Sarah Herrlinger, Apple’s senior director of global accessibility policy and initiatives, said in a press release....

The leak takes the form of a short video by the YouTube channel Apple Demo that shows what appears to be an early prototype of the Apple Watch running a pre-1.0 version of its software. The video opens with a close-up of the box the Apple Watch prototype came in.
