The New iPad Pro Could Be in Short Supply
According to Bloomberg, at least one of the mini-LED suppliers has paused their production. Therefore, because of poor manufacturing yields, there may not be enough displays produced before the launch date.
Among the main mini-LED technology providers for the upcoming iPad Pro devices are Taiwan-based suppliers Ennostar, General Interface Solution, and Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology. So, it’s possible that one of them is having production issues.
The iPad Pro tablets should be available in two sizes: 11-inch and 12.9-inch. But only the larger one will come out with this display kind. The mini-LED screen shortage could mean that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will not only become available in smaller quantities but also get shipped later.
The mini-LED display is one of the most significant visible changes that have been made to the upcoming iPad Pro. However, Mark Gurman reported that despite the issues, the tech giants are still planning to announce the iPad Pro models and present the mini-LED display in the second half of April.
One thing still remains a secret—how Apple will introduce the new iPad models, exactly. We’ll just have to wait and see whether the company will host a special launch event or whether they’ll be announced through a press release.
Why Is the Upcoming iPad Pro Worth the Wait?
The new iPad Pro with the mini-LED display has been widely rumored for many months. There are not many details about it, but some things are already known: it will improve the device’s brightness, contribute to a better contrast ratio, and more.
According to some of the previous reports, these displays should provide the user with a visual experience quite similar to the iPhone’s OLED panels.
Among the other fundamental changes in the upgraded iPad models are a much faster processor, improved cameras, M1 chip, and maybe even Thunderbolt support. If everything goes as planned and without any more complications, we should find out all of the product specs and features sooner rather than later.
Other Apple Products With a Delayed Launch Date
The upcoming iPad Pro tablets are not the only Apple products facing production issues. As we previously reported, MacBook Pro production is also being hindered due to a problem with the laptop’s final assembly.
