Events in Apex Legends are nothing new, as one or two major events take place every season. However, this Unshackled event is bringing back some fan-favorite elements, introducing new ones, and so on. It remains to be seen how the event is received, but it looks promising.

Apex Legends Unshackled Event Brings Back Flashpoint

Without a doubt, Apex Legends events are at their best when they introduce a new LTM or bring back fan-favorite ones. Perhaps nothing confirms the love of LTMs more than Control, as many Apex Legends players want it to be permanent. For now, though, they can look forward to playing Flashpoint again, this time on Olympus.

Flashpoint is a pretty straightforward, but intense LTM. There will be no healing items in Apex Legends, with players’ only option being the large lit-up areas dubbed as Flashpoints across the map. In other words, if players want to heal, they’ll have to fight. What’s good about this LTM is how big of a role these Flashpoints actually play. Apex Legends players can expect them to be hot drops, with players constantly in these zones. It’ll be a stroke of luck if players find an unoccupied Flashpoint, and it won’t last long.

Apex Legends Unshackled Event Features New Cosmetics, Two Reward Tracks

What’s particularly interesting about this event is that it features TWO reward tracks, when these usually only feature one. From April 19 to April 26, players will be able to progress one reward track (containing an Epic Seer Skin at the end), and it will reset on April 26. They’ll have until May 3 on the second track, with the final reward an Unshackled Pack (though there is an awesome Boxing Nessie Holospray along the way too).

Otherwise, there is a pretty standard but plentiful collection of rewards, including 40 event-themed cosmetics. Crypto, Pathfinder, Wraith, and Valkyrie are the big winners here, with the CAR, Hemlock, Peacekeeper, and Rampage getting love on the weapon end.

Players should be aware that there is no mention of any heirloom items for Apex Legends characters for those who were curious (as Crypto got his with the last event), but the thematic event screen is getting updated. Nonetheless, the event seems to have promise, and with Apex Legends season 13 also on the horizon, it bodes well for new events and content next season, too.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. A mobile version is available in some regions.
