Not only does Apex Legends confirm that Season 6 will start on August 18th, but also confirms the newest playable legend. Season 6 will revolve around the new legend Rampart, an expert weapons modder. In a voice message from Bangalore released yesterday, she mentions buying drinks for an old friend who she refers to as “P.” In a more recent message, a gracious customer is thanking a Lady Parekh, which has been revealed to be Rampart’s last name.

The Season 6 reveal also claims that a new weapon and crafting system will be introduced for Season 6. However, many fans are wondering why a new map was not mentioned. Based on the Broken Ghost quest, a floating city named Olympus is supposedly the next location for Apex Legends. However, the Season 6 reveal video starts off with a view of a rocket taking off, so it may be a slight hint that the legends are actually bound for Olympus.

The end of the trailer reveals the new legend as she takes off a welding mask to show off her gold nose ring and her turquoise bindi, a mark traditionally worn by Hindu women. The bindi and last name of Parekh leads on that Rampart may be the first Indian character in Apex Legends. Representation is a definitely a strong point for Apex Legends, as many of the characters are from different nationalities, ethnicities and sexual orientations.

Also at the end of the trailer, Rampart says, “Right! Sheila and I are ready to dance, are you?” Mirage then replies, “I can dance! Who’s Sheila?” Sheila’s name has shown up in various teasers including the voice message and graffiti found in-game on signs that say “ALL HAIL SHEILA!” Sadly, Sheila is not the name of another new character, but is the name for Rampart’s mini-gun, which she is seen shooting in the trailer.

Season 5 saw quests introduced, mobile respawns, a ton of limited-time modes and some entertaining events. Season 6 will look to follow it up with even more content. While the new gun and weapon crafting remains a mystery, the new features may spice up the competition a little bit when Season 6 starts on August 18th.

Apex Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will release on Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year.
