Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors Release Time

Apex Legends Season 13 releases on May 10, meaning fans should be sure to be completely done with all content ASAP. Season 12 will end and lead straight into Season 13. Typically, Respawn Entertainment is very good about releasing these seasonal updates at the same time, meaning the Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors update releases at 10 am PT/ 12 pm CT/ 1 pm ET.

There have been issues in the past where one platform couldn’t update for some time after the launch, but by and large, the release of the Apex Legends update tends to be the easiest part of a new season release. It remains to be seen how the servers hold up, and there’s no doubt Newcastle’s pick rate will be quite high for a while until his finds his place in the Apex Legends meta.

Apex Legends Season 13 Storm Point Changes

Storm Point is getting some attention in Apex Legends Season 13, as well as serving as the first half of the Ranked Split. Beyond some minor quality of life changes and general adjustments/tweaks, there are two major changes to Storm Point: the Downed Beast POI and the IMC Armories.

The Downed Beast is a new high-tier loot area where players can loot and fight inside, on top of, and all around a downed monstrous sea beast. There are also flyers overhead, and with its placement on the map, it introduces a few new rotation routes. Apex Legends Season 13 only adds a new POI; it doesn’t make enormous changes to others. Furthermore, the design standpoint is also hoping to bring players away from Barometer and to this side of the map.

Apex Legends Season 13’s IMC Armories are new PvE “minigames” where players face waves of Spectres to acquire “smart” loot. This loot will target the player’s kit and give improvements based on it. There are also weapons in and near them, making it a good loot farming spot early, mid, and late game. Also, because the Armories lock after players enter, they do not have to worry about being third-partied while in them.

Apex Legends Season 13 New Character Newcastle

Newcastle is a new defensive legend, designed on the idea of a medieval knight in a futuristic BR game. Newcastle’s abilities are all about leaving no one behind, giving him a ton of movement abilities on top of defensive ones. On paper, his kit seems rather balanced as he has a ton of counter-play options, like breaking his tactical and his passive needing a Knockdown Shield, but his overall viability in the game is yet to be determined.

Passive - Retrieve the Wounded: Using his wrist-mounted Revive Shield, Newcastle can protect himself and his companion from incoming fire while he revives and pulls his ally to safety. The Revive Shield is powered by Newcastle’s own Knockdown Shield, so finding higher levels of this item increases the strength of this ability. Tactical - Mobile Shield: Newcastle creates a hovering energy shield and can control its movement to adapt to the ever-changing combat fronts of the battlefield. Advance the line, cover a retreat, or turn the shield to guard against a sudden flank. The Mobile Shield’s versatility and top/bottom shield projections give creative opportunities to the tactical defender. Ultimate - Castle Wall: Drawing his signature shield from his back, Newcastle leaps into action and slams the shield to the ground activating the construction of a massive fortress to give him and his allies a strong defensive position. Enemies in its wake are knocked back and those who try to push through the energized wall are punished and slowed. While Newcastle can leap great distances in a single bound with his Ultimate, it is even stronger when used to regroup. When targeting an ally, Newcastle can leap higher and farther than normal allowing him to heroically reach his companion and turn the tide of a fight.
