In order to make a private Apex Legends tournament lobby before, players would need to email Respawn and submit details about their tournament. Once it deemed that the event followed EA’s rules on hosting community tournaments, players will be provided a tournament admin code that they can share to participating teams. It’s a difficult process that could take time to be approved, plus it also meant that professional players couldn’t arrange private scrims to practice before their tournaments.

Along with this announcement, Apex Legends will also launch the Spellbound Collection Event, which features 24 limited-time cosmetics including Legendary skins for Vantage, Seer, and Mad Maggie. Players can also get Seer’s heirloom called Showstoppers, which are dual handheld sickles, once they unlock all 24 Spellbound cosmetics before the event ends. Control, the 9v9 game mode, will also make a comeback in this event, along with other quality-of-life updates and bug fixes.
Since Season 15: Eclipse launched in early November, Apex Legends has had a few patch updates to fix some gameplay issues, including bugs that affected Legends like Catalyst, Wraith, and Crypto. Respawn devs seem to be looking at fixing other issues in Season 15, especially now that it’s considered the longest running season so far.
There’s still no date for Apex Legends Season 16, but players could already expect significant changes. There was a rumor recently that Apex Legends might have spawn changes in the next season where players might be equipped with a P2020 pistol; other rumors include an overhaul to the class system and a new weapon. Respawn has not confirmed any of these, but if these updates do happen, they might just change the game.
Apex Legends is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
