Nonetheless, the core experience is the definition of Apex Legends. Fans have been playing for three years now, and that experience—though not without its faults—speaks for itself. Apex Legends Mobile is launching in more regions as part of the next stage of Apex, but there’s something about it that fans want to see in the base game.

Apex Legends’ servers are notoriously…not the best. Recent seasons have been better, but many who have been kicked or couldn’t load are familiar enough with the pain that they have been a major quality of life improvement request for quite some time. The Apex Legends reconnect feature certainly helps with this, but the problem is that characters will stand there and wait until the player returns. That’s death in a game of movement.

Apex Legends Mobile fixes this by allowing players to control their disconnected allies until their return. Players can give these characters two commands: follow or battle. Follow means players can get them out of harm’s way, away from the ring, and into a rat spot. Battle means at least a fight is put up, even if it’s just a body on the field. But, such a feature can be incredibly helpful for the base game.

There’s no way to do this now on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, but many across social media where this has been shared have called for its inclusion. It takes a very bad situation and can, at best, neutralize it, so that it doesn’t entirely ruin a game or kill an Apex Legends character while they stand out in the open. Now, whether that it makes it into the base game or not remains to be seen.

It’s not impossible, especially if fans demand it enough. There’s plenty of incoming content, from new events and LTMs to native PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Apex Legends, and this mobile feature could fit right in easily.

Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Mobile is available in some regions; PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
