Broken Moon, which released on November 1, 2022, is Apex Legends’ fifth map, and is set within the 28th century. Boasting a futuristic yet scenic environment, many players were eager to try out the map and its various mechanics prior to its release, especially given that the Apex Legends developers had not modified any existing legends for the first patch of Season 15. With the new map being one of the main sources of new content for the latest season alongside new legend Catalyst, players were dismayed to find an irritating bug that compromises the competitive integrity of games played on the Broken Moon map.

In recent days, players have encountered pieces of invisible terrain within the Promenades section of the map, with grenades and other projectiles simply rebounding when thrown into them. This is not the only issue players have identified with Broken Moon, with some pointing out that foliage scattered around the map is also blocking bullets. Respawn Level Designer Aaron Stump took to Twitter in order to let players know that the company was aware of both issues, and that a fix should be expected in the near future, though it might not hit the game until patch 15.1, which is set to contain the first set of updates to the Broken Moon map.

With Respawn aware of the issues conerning invisible walls blocking grenades and the drones used by Crypto in addition to the bullet-blocking foliage on Broken Moon, fixes will likely be rolled out in the coming days, though more difficult issues will be handled separately in the next patch. Aaron Stump is requesting players to continue reporting any major bugs they find on the map so that they can be addressed by those working on the next patch.

While the issues with Broken Moon are frustrating to many, Respawn acknowledging them and dedicating a portion of the next patch to improving Broken Moon shows that the company is willing to listen to the community and fix their mistakes. In the meantime, Apex Legends players are advised to enjoy new legend Catalyst and not haphazardly toss projectiles when taking fights in the Promenade.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
