Recently, players have been experiencing a wide range of issues while playing Apex Legends. To Respawn Entertainment’s credit, it has attempted to fix the problems impacting players. For example, they previously sent out an update that attempted to resolve input lag on Xbox Series X and S consoles. In addition, the developer recently sent out another patch to fix problems with Loba’s Bracelet ability and hit registration issues. However, according to some members of the Apex Legends community, this most recent update might have done more harm than good.

Following the release of a July 13 update for Apex Legends, players have started experiencing new problems in the battle royale. Specifically, gamers have complained of difficulties in connecting matches. Furthermore, some noted that if they were able to connect to a game, they experienced near “unplayable” lag. Some players have even taken to Reddit to voice their frustrations. For example, one user known as Dwheeler593 made a post that pointed out the issues they claimed they had experienced since the latest update for the game while asking if others had experienced the same thing.

In response to this question from Dwheeler593, several gamers claimed that Apex Legends was unplayable for them as well. One player even noted that they tried to play a game using the no-fill option but were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, another Reddit user, Jakescott98, noted that they could not get past the main menu screen.

It is worth pointing out that these types of connection issues are nothing new to Apex Legends, as previous seasons have occasionally seen these types of complications crop up. However, they appear to be particularly frequent for some gamers right now. Regardless, these problems hamper the experience for those playing and make enjoying the gameplay difficult.

In addition, these connection issues come at an inopportune time for Respawn Entertainment as frustration among the Apex Legends community has been mounting as a number of complications have been impacting the game. In fact, some have started calling for a “No Apex August” boycott of the game. Unfortunately, the problems that gamers claim are arising from this July 13 update likely will only cause more frustration for the playerbase. It appears only time will tell how long it will take for the developers to fix these connection issues and whether some fans will actually boycott Apex Legends.

Apex Legends is currently available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
