Streamer and former Overwatch League Pro Mendokusaii set a new world record for most solo kills in a recent Apex Legends match, finishing the game with 36 kills under his belt. Mendokusaii’s two teammates left shortly into the match after they were both eliminated, leaving Mendokusaii alone to break the record. He made short work of the opposing teams using a combination of Wingman and the R-99, which quickly struck down every person he came across. Hopefully, the new weapon coming to Apex Legends will be just as powerful to make for some interesting kills.
Mendokusaii’s new kill record tops the previous record of 33 kills that was set by popular Apex streamer Dizzy. Dizzy has quickly climbed the ranks of Apex streamers, setting himself up to be one of the most popular Apex players out there at the moment. While 36 solo kills are quite impressive, there is no doubt that others will be trying to topple Mendousaii’s record. During his stream, he even said that it is quite possible to get even more kills, especially if the other teams revive teammates.
Without teammates, there was no kill-stealing holding him back from taking the record, though some extra team damage could have made some fights a little easier. Other player abilities, like Bloodhoud’s tracking, could have also helped track down hard-to-find enemies that were giving Mendokusaii a hard time. But even without extra help, he managed to be the last one standing with an insane number of kills. Perhaps the new legends coming to Apex will make it even easier for players to quickly climb the ranks in the popular battle royale.
Now that Mendokusaii has set a new record, plenty of players will be gunning to set the bar even higher - perhaps even the record-setter himself. With so many players currently diving into Apex Legends, it’s only a matter of time before a new record will be broken. Players will just have to wait and see how long the current record will stand.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
