According to Apex Leaks News - a fan-made Twitter account dedicated entirely to sharing new info and leaks regarding Apex Legends - a file name was found in the data for the most recent patch (the same one that nerfed two of the most popular weapons in the game). Of course, the information from this leak may not be entirely accurate, and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
After all, there have been a number of supposed leaks regarding the title that have been dropping ever since the game’s launch at the beginning of February, from new weapons like flamethrowers to new characters, with one rumor claiming that Titanfall 2’s protagonist Jack Cooper will be made playable. So far, though, none of these claims have been implemented, nor has anybody from Respawn or the publisher EA commented on them.
The only leak that seems to most assuredly be accurate is that a new character by the name of Octane will be added to the game soon. This leak has actual images of the character to corroborate it, as opposed to just some random bits of code.
With so many leaks coming out of the woodwork, Respawn and EA may need to take extra steps if they want to be able to surprise players with new content. Although that’s far from the only thing Apex Legends needs, as there are still a number of issues with the game itself, including having a worse netcode than both its rivals - Fortnite and PUBG. With this being the case, we even wrote up a list of changes we’d personally love to see be made to the game.
Apex Legends is available right now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
