Before moving forward, it’s worth mentioning that this news should be taken with a grain of salt, as Apex developer Respawn Entertainment could decide to postpone these additions (which we would never know since there is no confirmation on when they would be added anyway). It’s also noteworthy that the teased L-Star LMG still hasn’t been added to the BR title, so a waiting list could be building behind the scenes.
Thanks to Austin Scriver who shared this information with a popular Apex Legends leak source, there is some clear indication that both a flamethrower and a remote turret are in the game files. Sadly, this is about all we know. The likeliest scenario is that these are new weapons to be found around the world of Apex, but there are also other possibilities.
If they are not weapons, then it is possible that we are receiving a heavy, fire-based character in Apex Legends. Octane has recently been all but confirmed for season one, but presumably, he’s not the only one. A character by the name of Prophet, with an ability based on Precognition, has also been leaked, so a third character is not out of the realm of possibility.
While we wait to see what comes of this leak, it’s worth pointing out how much information is swirling around the first season of Apex Legends. With these weapons, new characters, and a Battle Pass in the works, there is a lot of anticipation that this season will make Apex more of a powerhouse in the battle royale genre. Whether or not it lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but if these leaks are to be believed, it sounds like it is on the right track.
Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
