For the uninitiated, vaults are areas on Apex Legends’ World’s Edge map that contain high tier loot. However, to access these vaults, players need to first obtain a vault key by shooting down one of the many cargo bots seen on the map while it’s flashing red. After gaining the key, a player will have to take it to one of three vault locations to gain access.

However with this new glitch, it seems like players can gain access to the vault, no vault key required. To achieve this glitch, players will need both a Revenant and a Pathfinder on their team. Upon dropping from the dropship, players should fly towards Overlook and circle around the mountains there and landing on the other side.
From there, a little patience is required, as Pathfinder will need to charge up their Zipline ability, and then shoot it through the rocks. After zipping across, players will then need to climb upwards towards the location of the nearest vault, before using another zipline to cross. Finally, after some careful maneuvering, Revenant will need to place his Death Totem, activate it, and then jump off the map. Players will then respawn inside of the vault, able to take all of the loot for themselves.
This isn’t the first time players have tried to loot the vaults without using a vault key. Upon learning about her Black Market Boutique ultimate, players immediately tried to loot the vaults using Loba. Unfortunately, what was learned was that only one item in total could be stolen before the Boutique was destroyed and alarms began blaring, calling the attention of all nearby players.
Even as rewarding as this glitch is, there are still some major drawbacks. It’s incredibly easy to die as players navigate to the vault in the first place. Additionally, this leaves players with no weapon as they start the match, which somewhat defeats the purpose of having this high tier loot. And finally, there is no way to open the vault from the inside, so players who exploit the glitch will either need another teammate to open the vault on the outside to leave, or wait and ambush another team who opens it.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and a Nintendo Switch and Steam version coming this fall.
