Mad Maggie is the new playable character of Apex Legends: Defiance, arriving in the new season with a heap of updates. Caustic’s and Crypto’s updates have been requested by gamers in the forums and streams for some time now, therefore these changes should be pleasant news to many Apex Legends players.

Caustic’s Nox Gas Trap has been debuffed for more balanced and fair gameplay. The gas traps will now have 150 health points, meaning they can be destroyed by other players. This update will particularly please players who often found themselves defeated or trapped by Caustic’s tactical ability. The traps’ expiration time has been reduced from 12.5 seconds to 11. However, the gas effect will linger for two seconds after destruction or expiration.

Crypto’s drone ability improvement has also been requested for a while. Gamers kept finding it difficult to control the flying drone to scan the enemies, keep up with squadmates, and attack if detected at the same time with the ability. Activating Crypto’s ultimate ability will now allow players to decide whether to enter the drone’s point of view and scan the area, or gain intel on the surroundings without switching control to the drone.

The Hammerpoint Rounds hop-up is now having an improved, far stronger effect on the Mozambique, P2020, and RE-45 by adding 35-50% unshielded damage. With this hop-up, Apex Legends’ pistols will prove far more powerful than before.

The Shatter Caps hop-up now passively affect hip-fire for the 30-30 Repeater and Bocek Bow, and will no longer have a toggling option. With the 30-30 Repeater, it also reduces the pellet damage point from eight to seven, and from 12 to 11 with the Bocek Bow.

The newly introduced hop-up, called Kinetic Feeder, is for the Triple Take and Peacekeeper weapons. Using this hop-up significantly reduces the choke time and automatically reloads the rounds for players.

These updates will introduce more balanced gameplay between the squadmates and adversaries in Battle Royale, Arena, and the new time-limited mode Control which Apex Legends players want to keep permanently.

Apex Legends is currently available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
