The belief that the crossover will involve both the Alien and Predator franchises depends on a bit of investigation within the community, as there’s no obvious evidence of a crossover. There’s no Alien or Predator skin, for example. However, what has been datamined does seem persuasive. There are five skins that have been found, one for Gibraltar and four weapon skins. The Gibraltar skin gives him an extremely pale complexion, as well as dull gray armor, which is assumed to be a nod to the Prometheus spin-offs of the Alien franchise. The guess is it’s based on the Engineer aliens.

Next are two weapon skins, the first with a black metallic texture with oozing green accents for the C.A.R. SMG. The second skin is a Longbow DMR skin featuring a black gunmetal base, along with gold plating and a red energy effect. It even has a leather finish on its handles. The first skin is believed to be a nod to the Alien Xenomorph’s monstrous midnight black skin and green acidic blood. The second is a nod to Predator, as Predators can have gold accents and leather gear. The second is, admittedly, a bit of a stretch.
The next two weapon skins are more persuasively tied to the Predator franchise. There’s an Epic-quality Wingman skin and an Epic Hemlok skin. Both of these skins feature digital displays on them with the Predator film font. In other words, there’s no way these two weapon skins are anything but evidence of a Predator crossover.
The other question revolving around the leaks is whether they’ll be tied to a standalone event or if it’s planned to be part of Apex Legends’ annual Halloween Fight or Fright event. Late August leaks for an October event would be early, but not too early depending on when Respawn wants to start the Halloween festivities.
Respawn will hopefully share more information about the potential Alien and Predator crossover event before long. The skins that have been datamined are likely just a glimpse of what’s in the works for the event, though Apex Legends players shouldn’t expect full-on Xenomorph or Predator skins like what’s available in Fortnite.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
